Cara, eu acho que não entendi a tua dúvida, mas vou tentar ajudar.
-Seguindo a tua lógica, juntar vai ficar com o valor "cxl".
-Um vetor sempre começa na posição 0 (por default). Ou seja, esse teu vetor times tem as posições 0,1,2 e 3.
times(0) = cxl
times(1) = ixt
times(2) = ixt
times(3) = txi
Como a posição 0 é igual a variavel juntar, a mensagem "funcionou" é mostrada.
